How to make fur earmuffs at home?
Fur earmuffs are not only a practical accessory to keep your ears warm during the cold winter months but also a stylish addition to your outfit. As a fur earmuffs supplier, I'm excited to share with you how you can make your own fur earmuffs at home. This DIY project allows you to customize your earmuffs according to your taste and style.

Materials Needed
Before you start, gather the following materials:
- Fur fabric: You can choose from a variety of furs such as faux fur or real fur depending on your preference and budget. Faux fur is a more ethical and affordable option, while real fur provides a luxurious look and feel.
- Elastic band: Make sure it's strong enough to hold the earmuffs in place but also comfortable to wear.
- Scissors: Sharp scissors are essential for cutting the fur fabric neatly.
- Sewing machine or needle and thread: If you have a sewing machine, it will make the process faster, but you can also sew by hand if needed.
- Pins: To hold the fabric in place while you sew.
- Measuring tape: To measure the size of the earmuffs and the elastic band.
Step 1: Measure and Cut the Fur
- Measure your head: Use the measuring tape to measure the circumference of your head where the earmuffs will sit. Add a few inches to this measurement to allow for some stretch in the elastic band.
- Cut the fur fabric: Cut two circular pieces of fur fabric with a diameter that is slightly larger than the size of your ears. You can use a plate or a round object as a template to ensure the circles are even.
- Cut the elastic band: Cut a piece of elastic band that is the same length as the measurement you took for your head, plus a few inches for overlapping when you sew it together.
Step 2: Sew the Fur Circles
- Pin the fur circles together: Place the two fur circles on top of each other with the fur side facing inwards. Use pins to hold them in place around the edges.
- Sew the edges: Using a sewing machine or a needle and thread, sew around the edges of the fur circles, leaving a small opening at the top. Make sure to sew close to the edge to prevent the fur from fraying.
- Turn the fur circles inside out: Through the small opening, turn the fur circles inside out so that the fur side is now facing outwards. Use a chopstick or a pencil to push the corners out and make the circles look round.
- Sew the opening closed: Once the fur circles are turned inside out, sew the small opening closed using a needle and thread.
Step 3: Attach the Elastic Band
- Mark the center of the fur circles: Use a pin to mark the center of the top of each fur circle.
- Attach the elastic band to the fur circles: Place one end of the elastic band on the inside of one fur circle, aligning it with the center mark. Sew the elastic band to the fur circle using a strong stitch. Repeat this step for the other fur circle and the other end of the elastic band.
- Adjust the length of the elastic band: Try on the earmuffs and adjust the length of the elastic band if needed. Make sure the earmuffs fit comfortably on your head without being too tight or too loose.
Step 4: Add Finishing Touches
- Trim the fur: Use scissors to trim any excess fur around the edges of the earmuffs to make them look neat and tidy.
- Optional: Add embellishments: You can add some embellishments to your earmuffs to make them more unique. For example, you can sew on some beads, buttons, or sequins, or attach a bow or a pom-pom.
